Mastering the urban car parking
Every driver should be able to park their car for a limited and regulated duration, for free or for a reasonable parking fee. The parking authority needs to manage parking in their district efficiently. The best way to do this is through an integrated tool that can fairly monitor parking control, for both the driver and the municipality.
Our experience with French and Swiss cities has led us to design VISÉO, a modern, integrated solution for controlling parking areas. VISÉO is installed and operated from a central office, and is deployed via satellite geographically distributed control centers (back office management) to portable hand-held devices including PDAs for parking enforcement and mobile phones for drivers.
Equipped with nothing more than their mobile phones (with/without web access), consumers can credit their “car parking account” via SMS or, if available, the internet. The fee is automatically debited from this account when the user controls the “Start” and “Stop” of parking duration, which are triggered by messages sent from the user’s mobile phone. VISÉO is compatible with payment via parking ticket machines or any other existing service, as well.
Traffic enforcement agents patrolling parking on the public roads are equipped with IP64 standard approved PDAs (470 grams) and Bluetooth thermal printers (370 grams). The agent checks the identity of parked vehicles, through OCR technology – optical reading and recognition of the car license plate (LRS).
